Enough already

Yep, still sick. After some encouragement from my hubby and my mom, I finally went to the health center to see what was wrong with me. 3 hours later (don't you love the doctor's office...wait...wait...wait), I had 3 new antibiotics and a 4 signed doctor's excuse notes for the next 6 days to excuse me from school/work. Wow, that's awesome. I took advantage and stayed home from work yesterday, slept for what seemed like forever, and had a wonderful relaxing night. I slept in today until 10:30, probably the latest I have slept in every since I've been married, and took all my medications to help me get better soon! The cough that never ends. I forget what it's like to exercise without feeling like I'm going to lose a lung, to talk for hours without having to excuse my self because of the cough attack. Anyway, I'm hoping it will soon come to end. It's already been a month too long.

As far as my new job goes...I'm not too excited about it anymore. My problem is that I absolutely love the company, I love the people that work there, and I love the atmosphere there. But my problem is, that I do not enjoy sales. It is something that just doesn't come natural to me. I am currently taking a sales management course at BYU, and I thought that that course would help me enjoy doing sales at work, but it hasn't so far. I keep telling myself that I'm still new and that there is always a learning curve, but I would so much rather go to a job that I want to do! I'm hoping that a position in another department will open soon, but we'll see how the next few weeks go.

Ok, I feel better now that I've gotten all that out.

The Love...

So I realize my last post was a bit pessimistic. There are so many things that I love about yesterday, today and the times in my life right now. I love baking cookies - especially the look on Ry's face when he sees a freshly baked batch...I love learning more and more each day in all of my classes...I love the feeling of my head hitting against the pillow at the end of each day...I love coming home to Sargie and him being so excited to see me...I love watching Jazz games with my hubby, even though the Jazz haven't been doing well lately...I love my new job, because I'm learning how to do sales and understand people...I love being in the young women's because I feel like I still am one...I love that everytime we're with the Perdues food is involved...I love that when Jen and I are together we always say the same things at the same time...I love watching Law & Order with my honey when we should be doing homework...I love playing intramurals - especially since this will be my last time doing it...I love doing the dishes right after we eat dinner so we don't have to worry about them later...I love doing the olyptical at the gym because it's the only form of exercise I can get with the current stage of my knees...I love the feeling after working out...I love it when everything is freshly coated with a new snow fall.

Ok that's enough of the love. But seriously, I love my life (even if I have a lot I'm looking forward to)!

The Weekend Jollies!

Being sick is exhausting. I have had the best ab work-out this week, 1 cough is like doing 20 crunches, cough once every minute for 3 days...my abs have never looked better. just kidding, but seriously.

I am so ready for the weekend. I find myself counting down for every Friday afternoon, even if I don't have any plans for the weekend I SO look forward to it every single week. Love it. I've found that I am always constantly counting down to several things at once. Counting down the minutes until class is over, counting down the hours until I'm done with work each day, the weeks until we get to see little Kenna in LA, months until my parents come home and we graduate, and years until we have our own little family and house of our own. What are you counting down to?

17 days and counting...

Yep, it's true, I've had this cold for 17 days and 2 antiboitics and it still hasn't gone away. Isn't that the worst? I would so rather have the 24 hour flu and sit by the toilet that whole day and night, than have this annoying cold for 2 1/2 weeks. Yesterday, MLK Jr. Holiday, I sat home all day, on the couch and did nothing. I was hoping that a long relaxing day like that would help me, but after 8:00 class this morning, Ry talked me into staying home again today. Sarge has loved having a buddy home with him all day rather than being all alone. We took a nice little nap, had some lunch, played some fetch, and took another nap.

I feel like such a slacker not going into work, it makes me appreciate the fact that I do have a job. I know I'm going to regret saying this, but I really am grateful for the fact that I usually don't have a lot of free time each day. The busier I am, the more that I get done. But I can't wait for that day when I don't have to write papers, give presentations, go to 8:00 class, have 100 pages to read out of textbooks everyday, constantly meet deadlines and be graded on everything I do.

Have a I mentioned Jen, my sister, made me a count down chain to the day that I graduate. Since August is a long ways away, she made one link for each Sunday until then. So every Sunday we have a party to take down one more link. Love it. Thanks Jen!

Congrats Honey!

It's a new year and a lot of changes here at the Jackson's home. With graduation quickly approaching, our future careers have definitely been on our minds. Ry has really been working hard by studying sales management, he met with a professor at BYU, then the next day he found out about Qualtrics, turned in a resume, had an interview, and was hired all within a week!

Qualtrics is a growing company located here in Provo that sells a survey software to major universities and schools interested in the latest and best technology. He's going to get fabulous Business 2 Business experience and it will be such a great rewarding job! I am so excited and so proud of him. He is working so hard, and I know he will continue to work as hard as it takes! Congrats and good job honey!

But basically, this picture best describes how I feel. You know that moment when you're all by yourself and all you can do is put your hands in the air and smile as big as you can? Yep, I know that feeling. I made my first sale today at work! I was pretty stoked about it. I wanted to go celebrate...but if I celebrated every time I made a sale that'd probably defeat the whole point of having a job in the first place. Anyway, excitement has come my way, and it's so much more fun to share it with others!

Gotta love change

Yep, definately exhausted. A new job, new classes, and a whole new busy schedule. I am really enjoying my new job, it's been really tough just trying to learn all of the ropes, but I'm sure it'll come to me soon. I spent the first few days just observing, and listening in on conversations, but then on Friday I started taking calls of my own. I have never worked in sales before, and it's tough! People can be mean, but then people can be very entertaining and funny all at the same time. However, the office being 15 minutes away on a good day...the 2 feet of snow we got earlier this week made it all the more stressful. That 15 minutes quickly turned into an hour....lot's of time in the car. Any suggestions for books on tape or something? I did have to miss a few classes here and there this past week and next week for some training for work, which I hate missing class, but you've got to do what you've got to do.
I'm excited for all of my classes; my teachers are all pretty fun and entertaining, so those 8 a.m. classes shouldn't be too bad. I vowed as a freshman after taking my first 8 a.m. class that I'd never do it again...but here I am...my last semester having 8 a.m. classes...boo. That's ok, a good paying job, and one more step towards graduation...I'll take it!

Wedding Pics (2 years later)

One of the biggest regrets from my wedding day was that I didn't get the pictures that I had always dreamed of. My photographer was great, but I wasn't able to get digital access to all of the pictures that we loved, and in today's world that's everything! So it was an answer to my prayers when a guy Ry works with, asked if he could take pictures of us to help him jump-start his photography business. (Lucky for him I still fit in my dress!) We definitely took him up on the offer.

I am a HUGE picture person, I love pictures, I could look at pictures of people and places all day long. So if there are too many pictures here for your viewing pleasure, then come back next time, because I love pictures. I'm not trying to create a shrine of myself or anything, these are mostly for my parents more than anything. Enjoy...

Some of you noticed that I'm wearing a coat in some of the pictures. This was the best wedding gift my parents gave me, it SAVED me on my wedding day because it was so cold. Because it was such a blessing to have, we rent it out for others to enjoy. If you know of anyone getting married this winter and they're looking for a coat like this, let me know!

A New Year

2009. What a year it will be. A new job, new classes and a new kind of motivation I am going to have to find somewhere. I am done and finished with college the end of Spring term, approximately 5 months and 25 days....and I can't wait. I am excited to learn all about marketing these next few months, but let's be honest, I am so much more excited to be done. People tell me, "enjoy these years....you'll miss college....life will never be the same...", ya ya ya, I am so ready for my next adventure. I have loved BYU, I have loved being a student, but I am so ready to move on.

I have had the same life for 2 years: school and work...not much else. I'm looking forward to not having school so I can have time to be a better cook, read Harry Potter, learn to sew better, and guiltlessly watch a movie on a weekday because there is no homework that I should be doing. It has been so nice to have my husband also be in school, we've been working hard together. We both graduate in August, and then we're going to move...somewhere, who knows?

What a year this will be. I'll finally get to meet my brother's baby, Kenna; my other sister-in-law is due in May, and I am done with school in June, my parents come home in July, graduate in August, move in August, and who knows what else the year will bring.
