For Sale

We have put our town home on the market. It has been a crazy summer with a lot of life-changing decisions. Back in May over Memorial Day weekend we found a house next door to our friends the Farrells in Provo in Indian Hills, and we fell in love with it and put an offer in for full asking price. We were so excited, already making plans, when we heard back that our offer was rejected by another one higher. We were so disappointed, but we knew that everything happened for a reason and it would all work out. 

We started to keep an eye out for homes for sale in Provo, we really wanted to be closer to Ryan's work and family. Then we went to the Parade of Homes the beginning of June, and fell in love with a home done by the builders Edge Homes. So we started talking to a realtor at Edge Homes, looked at their communities and available lots in Provo, Heber, Saratoga Springs and Lehi. All different price points and different lot sizes. 

We didn't want to move even farther from Provo, but we fell in love with a lot in Lehi, that is a .5 acre, big new neighborhood, only an extra 5 minute commute, across the street from the Elementary school and a beautiful view of the mountains in the back yard. July 11th, we signed the paperwork and the lot was ours! We had two wonderful appointments at the Design Center, where we picked out all of the colors and details to our cute little rambler home. 

It's estimated to be complete in January, but we wanted to sell our town home before they start building so we don't have two mortgages at once. So since we have a baby coming in less than 4 weeks we decided it was easier to get the house clean and ready to show to potential buyers and try and get it sold sooner rather than later. We are really hoping that we can buy from someone that will let us rent until our house is done. If not we're hoping to not close until the beginning of October so we can stay her with our newborn for at least a month. It's nuts. I still can't believe all of this is happening at once! But we couldn't be more thrilled for this new home and new phase of life.

33 Weeks

The 4th

In the days leading up to the 4th we took advantage of having family in town. We had a big pizza and pool party with all the cousins. This was Livster and Gracie sitting by the pool, holding hands, talking and waiting for everyone else to come out. Livy sure loves her cousin Grace. 

The next day we decided to do something we had never done with Livy. We took her to her very first movie! She had seen Monsters Inc. and liked it, so we had a feeling that with Monsters University she'd be able to sit through the whole thing and enjoy it. We walked in the theater once the previews had already started, so it was really dark, and Livy's eyes just lit up when she saw the huge bright screen. I think she was a bit overwhelmed and nervous as first. But once she got to sit down in her own seat and chow down on the enormous bag of popcorn her daddy got for her she was a happy camper. She was in and out of her seat, cheering, growling, and laughing during the whole movie. We loved watching her just as much as we loved the movie itself. 

That night we got a sitter for all of the kids and went up to Sundance for a very tasty dinner. It was so nice to talk with just the adults, and enjoy each others company. 

The next day was the 4th of July. By far our favorite holiday, especially in Utah. We got up bright and early, dragged Livy out of bed, drove down to Provo just in time for the Freedom Run! I walked the 5K with Sue, Jane Anne and Angela. Colby and Rob ran the 5K, and James and Ryan ran the 10K. It's the funnest race to be apart of. We tried going down to the parade, but by the time the parade was starting Livy was just too tired, and getting hot that we decided it was best just to go home. We went up to the Jacksons and went swimming with everyone. 

We went home to take a good nap, and got all ready to go back to the Jacksons for a wonderful big BBQ dinner. We invited my parents to come up and join us since we knew they didn't have any other family in town. It was so much fun to have them with us, Livy loved having both of her grandparents in one place. Steak and chicken kabobs, corn on the cob, watermelon and salad - the best. 

 Then we hustled down to the Stadium of Fire. We went with the whole Jackson Clan. We haven't been in years, but with Kelly Clarkson on the ticket I was pretty excited. Livy did great. We were pretty nervous that she would be too tired, and the fireworks would be too loud, but she loved it. She had a few rough spots, but for the most part did so well. She loved the music, and absolutely loved the fireworks. 

We left a few minutes early so that we could beat some of the traffic. But by the time we got to our car there were already a bunch of people in their cars, and we didn't move more than 30 feet in an entire hour. Livy fell asleep, which we were so grateful for because we didn't get home until after 1 am. It was such a fun day. The race, a BBQ, family, and fireworks, couldn't have been any better. 

Park City

The day after my family all left Utah and went home Ryan's family started coming. His brother James and Rob and their families came, then Jane Anne and Cobly came a few days later. We stayed up at the Marriott on the mountainside for the weekend and had such a great time. We went to dinner at Grub steakhouse Friday night and partied all day Saturday. We got up and exercised, then went right outside the front door to the Alpine Slide. I didn't have room for Livy to go with me because of my big ole' belly, so she went with Grammy Sue and was more than happy to go on the big slide. I was so nervous with her on the ski lift though! She was such a wiggle worm and I was a nervous wreck. But she absolutely loved the slide. She kept yelling, "Yee-haw! Ride on cowboy!". 

Then we hopped on the merry-go-round and we didn't get the "dog" one fast enough, so the orange little reindeer had to do :) Once again she yelled, "Yee-haw! Ride on cowboy!". She is such a crack up.

Then we spent the afternoon out at the pool next to the beautiful mountains. Livy loved swimming with all of her cousins and Grammy and Grandpa. 

It was fun to all be in the same place and let all of the cousins run around. Livy loved playing with some older cousins, and they loved her tagging along.

Loving and missing these sisters of mine. I wish California, Utah and Texas were a lot closer together. 

Ragnar: No Shame

I was so excited to find out in December that I was expecting our second baby...but I was so sad knowing I couldn't do the Ragnar this summer with my whole fam! Van 1 was 6 of my cousins, and Van 2 was my hubby, 3 siblings, and two of their spouses. I was so happy to get this pictures from Melissa from their crazy 27 hours of running, sleeping, and eating. They placed 44th out of 1390 teams, which is pretty amazing!! The team name was "No Shame", because when you're on a Ragnar team there truly is no shame in anything you do. It's kind of like saying "what happens during Ragnar, stays in Ragnar". 

This is Ryan after conquering the huge Ragnar hill, basically he ran 4 miles up a mountain.
