We started celebrating Easter with a ward party on Saturday morning. I made our favorite sticky buns, and they were gone within seconds, I was so proud. Then we had an Easter egg hunt. Well should I say the eight year olds had an Easter egg hunt. Liv got one pink egg. She cried, for a minute, so someone gave her a few more eggs. But when she realized that when she opened her pink chocolate egg, and realized it wasn't a pink candy, she threw it on the ground. She is a bit obsessed with pink.
After Livy's nap we dyed her very first Easter eggs. She was so good at it! She was very careful with them, for the most part. And of course we had to do a glittery-pink egg. We only did a few eggs, but it was enough. She was so proud of her eggs that she wanted to carry them all around, it was hard for her to understand that they weren't really toys.
We have 9:00 church. So I wanted to have a fun and enjoyable Easter morning, rather than stressful. So we woke up a little early, got all dressed, saw what the Easter bunny brought, then went out to find some eggs! Livy was so excited about all of her new things, she really did not want to go outside, she wanted to stay and play with all of her new things! But once we showed her that she either got a pink jelly bean or a princess sticker then she was excited to go.
After a nice Sunday afternoon nap, daddy showed Livy how to blow bubbles. She was having so much fun. And once she figured it out she started yelling, "Yay! Good job! Good job!". Sargie loved it too, he would jump and catch all of the bubbles.
We got to have Grammy Sue and Grandpa Bob over for a nice Easter dinner. We had ham, I made my very first "Funeral Potatoes", rolls, fruit, salad, and a delicious carrot cake. Livy was so excited to get a new swimsuit and jammies for Hawaii from Grammy. She also got some ponies in a pink castle, lucky girl!
And most importantly, I had the privilege of doing Sharing Time today, and talking about the Resurrection of our Savior. I am so grateful for the chance to be in Primary, I learn so much from the sweet children, and their sweet knowledge and testimonies of Jesus Christ. I know that He lives and He loves us. Happy Easter everyone!
