Livy's First Football Game

We had tickets to the BYU game last Friday night, and we found ourselves without a babysitter, so we decided to try taking Livy with us to the football game. I know there are plenty of parents who take babies to events like this that are a lot younger than Livy, but I've never been brave enough. And she was such an angel baby! She spent the first quarter with her Grammy Sue, the second quarter with us, and then we went home at half time. It's too bad too, because the second half was when the game actually got exciting! The Cougs brought home the win, and Livy had a blast. First football game was a success.
Livy was texting all of her friends telling them about her first game!

Jimmer-mania

Last week we got to see Jimmer one more time. Any time with Jimmer is time well spent. It was fun to see other all-stars like Kemba Walker, and Nolan Smith. There were lots of dunks, lots of "ball-hog-ness", and lots of TJ Fredette rapping nonsense, but it was fun. Auntie Jen watched Livy so we got to have a night out. We went with Bob, Sue, and Josh. We had great tickets and had a great time.

Out Cold

10 minutes before we were supposed to leave to church this is what I found:
I was trying to let her sleep as long as possible. She usually wakes up when I wake into her room, but not this time. She was out. Yes, Livy does sometimes sleep with her eyes open - it's a Jackson thing, her grandpa Bob sometimes sleeps with his eyes open too.

Believe it or not, we were still on time to church.

New Pasttime

Livy has become a lot more mobile. So her new favorite thing to do, is to maneuver her way over to the entertainment center, take the DVD's out one by one, hold it, look at the faces and pictures on the front, puts it down and gets another one off the shelf. Once they're mostly all on the floor, she'll scatter them around and move on her merry way to something else. I never knew that a mess could make me so happy.

Our Little Spinner

As soon as Livy figured out how to sit up by herself, she soon after mastered this art of spinning herself around on a hard surface using her heels. It makes us laugh every time, she thinks it's funny too. I finally got it on video! She's seems to usually stop once I pull the camera out.

Go Cougars!

Livy was so excited to put on her little BYU Cheer outfit that Brittany gave me last year. She wore it all day to support our Cougars.
Ryan's brother Rob and his family were in town the last few days - Livy loved playing with her cousins Grace, Vivian and Sam; they always kept her giggling and entertained. Saturday before the game we went to  a "tailgate" party. When we're in big crowded places, Livy likes to jabber as loud as she can, she thinks she has to contribute to the high noise level - Oh Livy.
Daddy and Livy wearing their new BYU t-shirts.

Although the Cougs didn't win, we still had fun going to the game (I didn't take any pictures at the game because I wasn't so sure I wanted to remember it). We're excited to raise our own little Cougar Fan!

Sundance Moonlight Lift Ride

This has by far become one of my most favorite things to do. Every summer/fall Sundance does lift rides when there is a full moon. We were unable to do in August, so I made sure we were free this September. It was as beautiful night, partly cloudy, a bit chilly - but we made up for it with layers, blankets, and hot chocolate. It was a great way to jump into fall. We had great company too - Jen & Tim are always nice to have for some great conversation. I already can't wait to go again next year.

11 months

Less than a month and this little one will already be turning one! Livy is 11 months and getting cuter everyday. Despite the fact that she has a fever of 103 degrees, she still managed to give me a few cute smiles for this months photo shoot.

I love this picture because it shows her curiosity. If someone is looking down she'll turn her head to try and make eye contact. She always wants our full attention if we're in her presence.
Livy is still trying to figure out how to crawl. She has made a lot of progress, but she's not cruisin' around yet (which I'm not complaining about). She rolls around, does a little army crawl shimmy, and find a way to get where she wants - it just takes a little while. She loves to stand and walk while she holds our hands - but, she doesn't really pull herself up on furniture and stand holding on. She'll get there, I'm not worried.
She has, however, figured out how to go from lying down to sitting up. Almost every single time i go in to get her from a nap, she's just sitting in her crib playing with her blankets.
She loves to be outside. She still loves her morning run in the stroller.
Livy is taking two naps a day still, but the morning nap is slowly fading. Someday she needs it, other days she doesn't. But overall she is still sleeping very well.
She still has 2 teeth, and not any signs of a new one coming through.

She is a chatterbox. All day long. There are few moments in our home when it's silent. She hasn't been screaming as much (thank heavens!), but her intonation is so funny - we think she thinks she's talking. Almost every time I ask her any kind of question she'll say "YA!". She also does she "da da", very well. The first day she said it Ry was leaving for work, and I told her to say bye bye to dada, and she said "da da!", then he turned around and had a big smile on her face.

Livy is also waving, some times for hello, but mostly when we say goodbye. She has also become a lot more shy around people she doesn't know. They'll try and say hi, and she'll shyly look at them, give a small little grin and turn away.

She also had her first pigtails this month! They were the cutest things. They fall out every time she gets in her car seat, and every time she takes a nap, but they're still cute!!

We love our little Livy Jean. She makes us so happy.

A Dream Come True

I don't even know how long I've been dreaming about this day. My sweet little baby had her first little pig-tails! She didn't even mind me pulling and tugging. I think she likes them. She looks like such a big little girl!

I probably took about 20 more than shown. It was a proud mama moment. She looked so cute I could hardly stand it.

Labor Day

It was Livy's first time on the lake, so we made sure to get lots of pictures of this happy little face.

When we drove fast on the water, Livy just yelled with a big smile on her face. She loved going fast and having the wind blow thru her hair. She was such a perfect little trooper, she never made a fuss. She quietly took her bottle, snuggled with mama, and took a little snooze.
Oh, and we did do water sports, besides just looking at cute Livy. The weather and water called for some great wake surfing. Hopefully we can go again soon before the weather gets too chilly! (Yes I am doing 'hang loose').

Outlet Shopping

We love to shop. So we make sure to take advantage of the great sales. This Labor Day the outlets in Park City had some super sales - especially Carter's, so we purchased Livy's who Fall wardrobe! When I came out of Banana Republic I saw this...

Livy's dada made sure she got her dinner. It was adorable. Messy face and all. It was one of my most favorite shopping trips to date.
