Happy Mother's Day!

My first mother's day present

What a good day. We had a nice relaxing morning, a yummy breakfast great church meetings. It's such a good day to think about our mothers and to remember how much they really do for each of us each day. I have so many wonderful mothers in my life that are each such a great examples in so many different ways.

I have several of my good friends that are mothers and they have shown me the great deal of patience they have with their kids and how happy they are to be moms.

My boss is such a great mom of 6 - she's so busy, but she always seems to get everything done and is just an amazing lady.

My sister-in-laws are all so wonderful. They are such great moms, so organized, so caring, and I can't wait to get all of their advice in being such great moms!

My mother-in-law, Sue, is always so kind and thinking about us and does so much for us. She's always planning great activities and dinners with the fam.

Then there's my wonderful mom. It was so nice to finally spend mother's day with her after 3 years of phone calls to Spain on mother's day. My mom is the definition of thoughtful, she is always putting others before herself and always asking what she can do for us. I am so grateful to have her example in my life, and I can't wait for my little baby to get to know and love his/her grammy.

Thanks again to all of you mothers and I hope you all had the perfect day!

Ry's Race

One of Ry's passions in life is running, and he loves to enter any race he gets the chance. Jane Anne and Colby came down from Logan to run the 5K with him. Rain and hail they came flying by the finish line. It was a fun morning despite the heavy rain showers, and cold winds, but it was fun being out with the rest of Provo. Sarge came with us and he absolutely loved the crowds, the rain and being outside. Ry did sooo awesome, he ran it so fast. He is such an amazing husband, I couldn't have dreamed up a better husband, I love him more than anything else in the world.

So this is what it's like

I am so happy. 16 weeks and no more nausea. I had completely forgotten what it was like to NOT be sick! It is so wonderful. No more Zofran, no more laying in bed for an hour eating saltines before I actually got out of bed, and no more extreme car sickness. If it's not one thing I guess it's another, the headaches, heartburn and never-ending hunger have begun. So, my new best friends are my Tylenol, Tumbs, and purse full of snacks. With that said, I love it all, and I can't wait for my baby.

Day at the Park

Last Saturday was such a beautiful day and we couldn't resist, we had to enjoy the sunshine. The Durrants invited us to go on a nice picnic at a park just up the street and it was so much fun. They packed us a nice little lunch, which was fabulous, we relaxed in the sun, let our dogs run around, played catch with a few different fun toys, then we played a game from Sweden that Ryan D. learned on his mission and was loads of fun. Hours later we head home much more relaxed and refreshed from the perfect day at the park.

Happy Birthday to me!

Last Friday was my birthday and I turned 23 years old! One year older and wiser too! I had such a fabulous birthday. My hubby spoiled me like crazy by getting me an awesome new laptop! I am so super excited, we will have many good times together these next few years. He got me these beautiful flowers, which are continuing to bloom and be as beautiful as ever. Then we had such a perfect dinner at the Cheesecake Factory.

But I started out the day by walking outside and seeing quite the surprise!! Don't you all wish you had a mom that loved you this much!?

Then my mom and I met my dad and Jen at BYU and Dave met us there as well for some lunch. It was so fun to be with everyone, and get one of my favorite wraps from L&T. It was so amazing to be on campus during finals, seeing the stress and anxiety in everyone's eyes knowing that I am finished! Oh what a feeling.

On Saturday my sister Melissa was in town for about 24 hours, just enough time to run her first marathon! She is so awesome, she did fabulously, I'm so proud of her! My mom threw a great birthday party for me, with a nice dinner, grandparents, birthday gifts and yummy chocolate cake! I got some great maternity shirts that I can wear for the next 6 months, they're so cute. I got a super cute purse, and a sewing machine! Yay! I am going to put some very good use to that thing. I kept borrowing my mom's so she figured it was a perfect gift. And it is, I am so excited.

Then tonight at the Jackson's, Sue made a wonderful birthday dinner for me as well and got a mini cupcake pan, a recipe book, and a fun paper punch. It was a great birthday weekend, thank you everyone for such a wonderful birthday!

A Little Project

My mother calls it my "nesting instinct", but I see it as "I saw something I wanted to do, so I did it!". I was at my parents house the other day, and I thought to myself, this vanity is old, and could be so dang cute! So I had my mom come in to Four Chairs, pick from all of our paint colors, and went at it. We sanded it down, painted it with antique sage green, antiqued it, glazed it, top coated it, added some new cute knobs and TA-DA -- as good as new!

My mom was kind enough to let me go with this, but she figured they'll probably tear it all out to remodel eventually, so why not add a little color in the meantime? The pictures don't really do any justice, the glaze looks a little funny in these pics, but it really did turn out super cute.

Don't Judge Me

So I may or may not have gone to McDonald's twice yesterday... what can I say? There are few things more tasty than some fresh chicken nuggets dipped in honey with some good ole' salty french fries. I was a little embarrassed when the same lady took my money that was there 4 hours earlier, maybe she didn't recognize me? Even if she did I'm sure she has kids and has been pregnant and understands :)
