Dinosaur Museum

We have been wanting to take Livy to the Dinosaur Museum out at Thanksgiving Point, neither us had been there ourselves, and we had heard great things. We checked out the Exploratory Exhibit, Livy was a bit nervous with all of the different noises, so we went on to the Dinosaurs. That wasn't that much better. I think she was a little disappointed that the dinosaurs were all fake. She kept looking around for real animals. She spent less than 5 minutes digging for dinosaurs, she just had no interest. After spending $20 to get in, we were out in about 20 minutes. As we were getting into the car we asked Livy, "Did you like the museum?" and she quickly said "No". At least she was honest! We probably won't be going back any time soon.

Time Out

This isn't a time-out for Livy, but a time-out for me. I time to take a break from sewing, from planning/hosting  parties, from cooking, cleaning, and running errands all over Utah County. I time to look at my beautiful little daughter, and just cherish her. Cherish the time I have with her. The time we have to snuggle Pooh Bear. The time we have to ride our "sailboats" which are couch cushions on the living room floor. I love this little girl of mine.

Twins

I made this skirt a few months ago, and had left over fabric so I made Livy a little coordinating dress. I love dressing like twins. I'm enjoying every minute while she's young and doesn't know any better. I love my mini me.

Poor Sargie-man

This poor little pup. For the last year or so Sarge's breath was getting worse and worse. The groomer cleans his teeth every 5 months when we get his hair cut, I tried brushing his teeth myself, but this poor dog had major dental problems. His teeth were basically rotting away. So we finally made an appointment with the vet, they put him under, deep cleaned his teeth and had to pull out 14 of his little teeth. This is including all of the front ones and a few in the back. He surprisingly still has quite a few, but we new have to soak his food in water so he can eat it. Poor little pup, only 5 1/2 years old. But the vet said there wasn't much we could've done, some dogs just build up plaque a lot faster than others. We love our little Sargie-man, no teeth and all.

Candy House/White Elephant Gift Par-tay

I had the best friends in high school. They are the funniest girls you will every meet. A few have moved away,  we're all going down different walks of life, but it's so fun to find time to get together. I hosted a party for the few of us still around, significant others, but no kids. It was so much fun. It was an Ugly Sweater party as well...but Ryan and I had such a crazy busy week, I was embarrassed not to have an ugly sweater! But it was fun nonetheless.

We started out decorating our little graham cracker houses. They all turned out amazing. The frosting I used was : 1 lb. powdered sugar, 1 tsp. cream of tartar, and 3 egg whites - then you beat it until it's stiff, using a bit of water if needed. Then bag it up quick before it starts to harden. It worked out perfectly.

The white elephant gift exchange. We all grabbed a gift, then read that "Mr. Right" story to pass them right or left. There were some pretty awesome gifts - a season of "Full House", an "air guitar", a box of old VHS's, and my favorite was a bar of soap shaped like Mitt Romney. Good times, lots of laughs.

The whole gang and their houses. (Caity & Tom, Mike & CeLisa, Ali & Daniel, Us, Lauren & Devon).

By the end of the night my cheeks hurt so bad from smiling and laughing. Can't wait for our next get together.

Just a Lazy Sunday Morning

Livy decided it was a good idea to wake up at 5:50 am this morning. I normally would have just let her stay in her crib and cry or something until she went back to sleep. But she was crying and yelling "Owie". So I went in there and asked her where her "Owie" was thinking maybe a sore throat or something, but she pointed to her lip. That meant no owie, just knew it would get my attention. So she played on the iPad while we tried to get more sleep. She insisted on taking off her jammies. Before breakfast she was making all of her 'animals' kiss and say "i love you". She has a new obsession with putting pillows and blankets on top of or over her head. She is our silly raga-muffin. She better take a good nap today, that's for sure.

Visiting Santa

The Shops at Riverwoods is amazing at Christmas time. There are millions of lights, fun shopping, good food, Waffle Luv (the latest food truck fad), Santa, and free horse carriage rides. We went last night to eat dinner at Malawi's Pizza, and got there right before Santa, waited a few minutes and didn't have to wait in line! Last year was a tragedy meeting Santa...and unfortunately this year was not very different.

Last week we were at Riverwoods and we walked past Santa and we stood there for a minute so Livy could see Santa, see the other kids with Santa and kind of prepare her to meet him. Then all week we talked about how 'Santa is nice', and 'Santa is happy'. We practiced conversations with Santa, I would ask her her name, how old she was, and what she wanted for Christmas.

So when we met Santa she did great, while I was holding her. She told Santa she wanted "princesses" for Christmas. Then he showed her his gloves, and his 'pretty ring'. When I put her in his lap for a few pictures that's when she lost it. But it made for some good pictures.

Then we were also the first ones in line to go on a "walking horses" ride. Livy was in heaven. We got the seat closest to the horses, so she was able to watch them closely the entire time. She was so happy. When we came to a stop and had to get off, she just screamed and cried and was beside herself. She did not want to get off. But then they told her she could go touch the horses, so then she was happy. Our little drama queen. We had such a fun night. It was the perfect night to get ready for the holidays.
