Farnsworth Family Reunion

For the first time in over 18 months my whole family finally all got together! I've been looking forward to it for so so long. We had our very first visitors stay in our house, the Grows, and Livy loved waking up to her cousin Lucy each morning. We spent a few mornings at the park and let the 7 kids ages 4 and under run wild. We had perfect weather, and all the kids got along so well...most of the time.

Happy Father's Day

For Father's Day this year, Livy was really excited to help out and make it special for her daddy. A couple of weeks ago she "helped" me put a book together of a bunch of the pictures of them two from this last year. The book was called "Daddy and Me - Volume 2", since we did the same thing last year. In the book it listed reasons why she loves her dad. I think it was safe to say that he liked it.

We also got him a nice Nike Golf polo, which have been his favorite lately, so we're grateful for the new Nike Outlet so close! We then enjoyed a yummy french toast breakfast and headed to Stake Conference where we got to here Mimi and Grandpa speak! Livy was pretty excited to see them at our church, and get the opportunity to hear their wonderful testimonies.

I am so lucky to have such an amazing husband. He is so kind and thoughtful. He works so hard to support our family. He is a righteous priesthood holder and faithful and diligent member of the church who is always willing to serve. He likes to have fun, but also enjoys the relaxing nights at home watching HGTV and the Food Network with me. I am so grateful to have him as the father to my children. They are so lucky to have a dad who cares so much for them and loves them. I love you honey, you're the man of my dreams.

I am also so grateful for my dad. He has always been such a diligent example of always doing what's right. He exemplifies obedience. He has made such a huge influence in so many lives, especially the lucky missionaries who were able to call him President. I love watching him with Livy. They have such a special relationship, and we're so lucky to live so close and see them so often. I love you dad, I couldn't have asked for a better daddy.

Ryan's Utah Valley Half Marathon

Ryan has been training for this half marathon and couldn't believe the day it actually came he had to wake up at 3:00 am because that race started at 6:00 am! That is one early race. It was actually pretty tough because he was in Texas for work the week before, and then he had some little stomach bug. So he didn't really have a whole bunch of energy to start with. But he did great!! We were so glad that we got to go down and watch him cross the finish line! We're so proud of you!!

Zoo with the Wrights

Some of our best friends we made in our short time in Minnesota were here visiting. Well Rachel brought the kids, so I was able to meet up with her and spend the morning at the Hogle Zoo. We got there right when it opened at 9:00, but it was already in the 80's, so needless to say this pregnant lady had her fill of the zoo for the summer. A lot of walking, and pushing a stroller in the hot sun, probably won't happen again anytime soon.

Livy and Corbin were so cute together. They were sharing their snacks, climbing and walking around together, Corbin even tried to grab her hand a few times. It was so fun to watch them play. I absolutely loved catching up with Rachel too. They are actually headed to Barcelona this Fall for Brandon to get his MBA. So it was fun to hear about all of their preparations and the adventures to come!

We had a great time, and are hoping that the Wrights end up somewhere close to us some day!!

Summer is Here

We have anxiously been waiting for summer and boy are we sure glad it's here. We are loving our walks in the morning, or our trips to the gym. Livy has been going through a pretty "tough" phase (hoping it's a phase). She is just a lot more stubborn, throws bigger tantrums, and she's slowly giving up her nap. I think her not taking naps anymore is going to affect me more than her! So because of all of this, we are always trying to keep busy so we're not watching too much TV. Here are a few of our new favorite things.

This girl has discovered this new love for painting. It's technically finger paints, but to avoid some of the mess I just let her use cue-tips. She actually does a really good job too! She did it almost every day for a week, and so we need to go load up on more paint because she used almost all of it. I would just google "princess coloring page" and print them out and she loved it.

Another new favorite past-time is swimming! We literally go almost every day. We have a pool in our community, so it's super convenient, and I don't feel guilt if we only go for 30 minutes, but we could spend 2 hours there too. We actually just also started her in some private swim lessons. She does it once a week, and it's only for 15 minutes but it's the right amount of time. The first lesson she screamed the entire 15 minutes. The second lesson she only cried for the second half. So hopefully next lesson she'll improve even more. She just does NOT like getting her head under water. So if that can be avoided I think she'll be happier. But she is doing great!

This girl has quite the imagination. She doesn't do this all of the time, but at least once a day she'll start playing with her toys and just carry on conversation after conversation with herself. The other day I was doing things around the house, and found her in the baby's room having a tea-party. It was the cutest thing. Boy, do we love this girl. She is such a hoot. She sure gives us a run for our money, but we wouldn't have it any other way.

Here's to a long hot summer with many more adventures!!

Memorial Day Weekend

We have had bad luck with Memorial Day. Last year both Ryan and I got the flu, and this year, Livy and Ryan each got it again. Ryan worked late on Thursday night so he could get off early Friday and we could go to the Zoo!! But... Friday Livy wasn't feeling very well, and when she woke up from her nap she just threw up over and over and over again for about 6 hours. I was glad Ryan did come home early to help out though!

Saturday morning Ryan went for a run up the canyon, and golfing with his dad. I went to my good friend from High School, CeLisa Packer's bridal shower. Then in the afternoon Ryan's parents watched Livy so that we could go to see Iron Man 3. We loved it! Then we had a little BBQ with the Jackson's and had the best hamburgers ever. Everyone was feeling well, until Sunday evening Ryan felt it coming. He had a rough night, neither of us slept very well, so we weren't quite sure how Monday was going to go.

But Ryan was feeling a little better, so we decided to get out and do something. We went to the Petting Zoo at Thanksgiving Point, right when they opened and it was nice to have the place almost completely to ourselves! There were so many new baby goats, we all loved it. We even got to see them get their milk from a bottle, and Livy loved it!

On the way there Livy was so excited, she said, "We're going to the petting zoo! We're going to see cows, horses, chickens, and bunnies and all these things will make me SO HAPPY!!" It was the cutest thing.

The highlight of the morning, was definitely the pony ride. We have tried to get her to ride them every time we've gone, and this time was finally a success! I set her on the pony, and she didn't even hesitate. I walked around a few times next to her, but then she said she wanted to do it by herself. She loved it. She was so darling, I couldn't believe how grown up she looked.

Livy and I went for a swim in our pool while Ryan rested and tried to regain some energy and strength from being so sick. She giggled the whole time we swam, she was excited to be at "the beach".

Then my parents planned a fun night up the canyon. They got some KFC, we did s'mores, played with some bean bags, enjoyed the beautiful weather and being together. We weren't able to make it up to the cemetery to visit our grandparents, but we are so grateful for the wonderful legacy they have left for us. We're so lucky to be part of such a great heritage. Our weekend definitely had it's ups and downs, but we were grateful for all of the time we were able to spend together!
