About 6 weeks ago Jen and Tim moved to Austin, Texas. About a month ago I found out Ryan was going out of town for business the first week of October, Livy turns 2 years old on October 9th, so she could still fly free...so I bought a ticket to be the inaugural visitors in Austin. On the plane ride there we were SO lucky to get the only extra empty seat, so Livy was an angel. We got to Austin, wasted no time and hit up a food truck. Went to "Jen's House" in "Jen's Red Car" (according to Livy), and hung out till Tim got home. She loves Tim and Jen. She was so excited to play.
Thursday morning Jen went into work for a few hours, so we made our selves at home, went to the pool for a bit, and took it easy until Jen got home. We went to lunch at a very authentic and delicious Mexican restaurant. Chips and salsa at its finest. After Tim got off work we went to a SUPER nice park just across the street from Jen and Tim's apartment. It had a faux little town, swings, playgrounds, and a little music area. It was seriously amazing. Livy had a blast.

In true Texas fashion we went to Rudy's for dinner. Brisket straight from the smoker, in a gas station, on a picnic table, eating on paper with our hands. It was not only food, it was an experience :)
Friday morning we went to the outlets close by, and I bought 7 stuffed Disney characters that were less than $6 each! I couldn't resist. I BARELY fit everything in my bag! But totally worth it. We met Tim for lunch and went to Pita Fusion, more delicious grub. Tim got off work a little early and we drove down town to Zilker Park, played on a playground, and went on the cute little train ride around the park. Livy was in heaven. She is obsessed with "choo-choo's", so this was great. She even got a bag of popcorn to enjoy for the ride.
We grabbed a pizza from "Home Slice" and went to wait for the bats to come out!
That night was when the whole mood of the trip plummeted. I thought I was car sick...but then we came home to watch the BYU Football game, and I was just feeling worse and worse. Come 10:30 pm I started throwing up for about every other hour the entire night. I was so sick. I could hardly move. Thankfully Jen and Tim helped take care of Livy. We just hung out most of the day because I couldn't really do anything else. Tim was brave enough to take Livy by himself to a little Ward breakfast they had. She absolutely loved it. She came home talking about "Tim and kids" all morning. Tim was an awesome brother in law and got me some Sprite and saltines to help my tummy. Finally by late afternoon I was getting enough energy to actually go out for a walk. Jen works at an art school, and they were doing a "Chalk Walk", so I bustered up the energy to go. It was pretty neat!
Livy was a bit ornery, but they had ponies. She loved the ponies. Didn't ride them, but loved them nonetheless.
But boy does this girl love her Uncle Tim and Auntie Jen. The second she work up in the morning she was ready to play. She wanted to hold their hands, she wanted to read books, she wanted to color, and she loved playing with them. She especially loved going "outside" with Timmy.
We had the most perfect weekend (minus the 24 hour flu bug). We loved Austin, especially with our favorite people in it. Can't wait to see you at Christmas! Thank again Cavanaughs, you were great hosts, we love you!
