Park City with the Farnsworths

All of the Jackson's left Park City a day early, so we decided to stay and have my family come up. We all met at the outlets, for a bit more shopping. Grabbed some pizza, watched more football and let all the little kiddos keep up entertained. We then watched a movie (Super 8 - we thought it was way weird), played some boggle and went to bed.

 We had another bad night with Livy. Except this was even worse. Probably the worst night of parenthood we've had yet. She woke up around 2:00 am, still feeling really sick, but this time she could not stop crying. We couldn't get her to calm down. Finally around 4:30 am we gave her more medicine, and a blessing, and she finally fell asleep in my arms by the fireplace. Needless to say Saturday was filled with nice long naps. Saturday morning before we checked out, we had another breakfast feast, and walked up and down Main Street, enjoying the beautiful warm weather. Livy really really wanted this hat, she loved the soft fur - but it wasn't $75 we were willing to spend.

It was such a great weekend, it made us even that much more excited for Christmas!!!

Park City with the Jacksons

For Thanksgiving Weekend we went up to Park City, relaxed, spent good quality family time, and relaxed a little more. It was a much needed little vacation. It was so nice to have Ryan , away from work, and able to spend all day with him! We drove up Wednesday, and had some yummy pizza at Main Street Pizza & Noodle. We loved walking up and down Main Street, looking in all of the fun little shops, and enjoying the Christmas lights everywhere. 

Livy absolutely LOVES fire. She would have sat by this fire all night if we would have let her. She is just so fascinated with the flames. This is one of my favorite pictures from the weekend.

Thursday was Thanksgiving, and was also Ryan's birthday. My parents gave him the new Elder Oaks book, "Life Lessons Learned", movie tickets, and candy. I gave him some Brian Regan tickets for January - we're excited! Then he had a birthday breakfast feast with scones, eggs, and sausage. Being away from home was no excuse to cook a turkey, cook a pie, and have a fabulous feast!! 

The rest of the day consisted of napping, relaxing, playing with iPads, watching football, and playing Five Crowns/Scrabble.

 It's been a tradition to go shopping at the Park City outlets for Black Friday. Thankfully this year they opened at 10:00 pm rather than midnight! So we were able to get all of our shopping done and be back in our room by midnight, it was wonderful. Livy got $260 worth of clothing for $94! We also did some Christmas shopping, Ry's pretty much done shopping for me already!

 Josh was nice enough to stay in the condo so that Livy could sleep while we were gone. We came home late, got ready for bed, and then Livy woke up crying, runny nose, and coughing. It was a bad cough. We think she had croup, and Bob and Sue said that cold air really helps with those bad colds - weird I know, but worked! We got all bundled up, went outside at 2:00 am to try and help Livy. She did go to sleep, but it was a short night. The next morning she discovered blackberries for the first time. Boy did she love them! (The picture didn't do justice for what a mess she was).

 Over the last few weeks Livy has learned what and where her eyes, ears, mouth, nose, teeth and hair are. But Friday morning, she figured out her tongue. It was so funny to see her pulling on her tongue, sticking it out and laughing. Silly Livy.

 We had such a great time. It was so much fun to spend time with Bob, Sue, Josh, Janie and Colby. It was a perfect Thanksgiving!!

Eventful Weekend

Last weekend was probably the most action packed weekend we've had in quite some time! But it was so fabulous. Thursday night we hit up Sammy's to get some delicious Pie Shakes and fresh cut fries. Always a good time with the Perdues. Love them.

Then Friday morning, Ryan went with me to set up my little table at the Bijou Market. I've been preparing for this ever since the day I started making these little boots (September 1st to be exact). It took a lot of thought and preparation to make sure that I had enough stock for this market. It was so tough to keep up with orders and make extras. But I did it. I came with 48 pairs, and left with on 26! I call it a success. It was so much fun to be apart of something like this. There were such other cute items the other vendors had created. 

Friday night, we ate at Guru's Ry's family, then Ryan and I went to "White Christmas", a fun musical that BYU performed. It had such great dance numbers, all of the singers had amazing voices, and we really had a blast. If you've ever seen this play, or the movie, you know that at the very end they do indeed get snow on Christmas day - then we walk outside to a completely snowy night. It was so thick - huge flakes, we could hardly see. We laughed, giggled and ran through the snow. It was such a fun date night. Ry's sister Jane Anne and her husband Colby also came in town, so it was fun to spend the weekend and all of the exciting festivities with them.

Saturday we went to a matinee of "Vocal Point" - an singing/dancing/entertaining/awesome group from BYU. They were on the latest season of the Sing Off, and recently kicked off. They were such a blast. It's one of those shows where everyone is just smiling the entire time. 

After we picked up the remaining boots from the market, we relaxed for a few hours before we got all bundled up for the 8 PM BYU football game. It was freezing, but we were definitely prepared. We may or may not have brought our own chocolate milk - don't tell. We stayed until the 3rd quarter, and then decided it was late enough, cold enough, and the Cougs were going to pull out with the win.   

My goodness. Just writing this post made me exhausted. I'm excited for the nice relaxing, Thanksgiving weekend we have up in Park City this week!

Happy Birthday Dinner

Ryan's birthday this year is the same day as Thanksgiving. So we wanted to make sure that he got his birthday dinner, a dinner with everything that he wanted, everything made just for him. So we feasted. Even though Thanksgiving is in just a few days, we feasted. We had grilled steak and chicken, grille peppers, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes and pineapple. The most delicious spinach salad (cottage cheese, Swiss cheese, bacon, tomatoes, and homemade poppy seed dressing). Yummy rolls (frozen rolls with butter and brown sugar). Big fruit salad (bananas, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, pineapple and Honey Crisp apples). Pecan pie, Banana cream pie, and chocolate cake. Good thing we had Bob, Sue, Josh, Jane Anne, Colby and Grandma Jean and John there to help us eat it all!

Bijou Market

My little baby boots are going to be at the.....

The Bean Museum

This afternoon we went to the Bean Museum at BYU. Auntie Jen came with us too! Livy is at such a fun age, she absolutely LOVES animals. She could watch animals on the TV, in books, or at Sarge for hours. She loved the zoo a few weeks ago, so I knew this would be a success. 

I don't know if she knew much of a difference between the animals at the zoo and the animals at the museum, haha. She probably liked the museum animals more because she could get as close as she wanted to and they weren't moving, or sleeping in some corner. She loved to point at them, giggle, and growl. Boy can she growl.  We had a lot of fun, we'll have to go again soon. 

Basketball Now in Session

Livy got to go to her first BYU Basketball game a few weeks ago. She LOVED it when the lights all went out, and the spotlight went all around the arena. She kept pointing, and "oooing". She clapped every time that everyone else clapped (even if it was for the other team). She would watch the ball and the players go up and down the court. She only lasted about the first half, since the game began at 7, which is also her bedtime. She has since been to another game already.
