Festival of Trees

We were able to go to the Festival of Trees with Mimi, and the girls loved it. They loved the lights, and all the toys and especially the princesses and pink trees. The gingerbread houses were also incredible, our favorite was the Queen Elsa Ice Castle. Olivia has the best memory in the world and wanted to do the same activities she did last year. She had her nails painted and got a ring, she fished for a piece of candy and made a little caterpillar craft. I love these memories with my girls and my mom. Such a fun time of year.

Thanksgiving

We had a beautiful and warm Thanksgiving this year. Since we haven't planted any trees in our yard Livy was so excited to "help" Grandpa rake some leaves, but really she just wanted to jump in them. All the girls had such a good time running and jumping and running around while we finished preparing the food.

We had a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner, and my mom had some fun crafts for the girls while we waited for the turkey to cook. As per tradition we all went around and said things we were thankful for, and of course Livy made sure to include her pink blankie. We had absolutely so much to be grateful for. This was such a fantastic year. We have loved making our new house a home. I am so excited to be in this neighborhood, with such amazing people and look forward to raising our beautiful children here.

Goof Ball

But really, there are no words for this silly girl. She just brings us so much joy.

Ryan Turns 30!

Since Ryan was turning the big 30 this year, I wanted to do something a little special. So I was able to pull off a surprise party! We had Jon Bryer, Lonnie Keith (high school friends) there with their families, the Poulsen's and Braithwaites (neighbors), Ryan Durrant and Daniel Young (work friends), and then Ryan's parents were all able to make it. We had pizza and bowled. He was totally surprised, it was awesome. I just had him meet us there after he finished class, so he knew something was up, but he had no idea, it was awesome.

Since my parents couldn't make it to the bowling, we had them over on Ryan's actual birthday for some yummy pork tenderloin and pecan pie.

That weekend we went out to dinner with the Poulsen's and Allred's to the Cheesecake Factory, per Ryan's request. It was delicious as always. We had a great time eating and chatting the night away.

We loved celebrating Ryan's birthday several times, welcome to the 30's honey!

San Francisco Get-a-way

Ryan has been traveling a bunch, and I was feeling left out going to some fun places with out me! So Ryan had some meeting in San Francisco, so I booked a ticket, made arrangements for the girls and we were on our way just 3 weeks later. And then it just so happened that his meetings were canceled so I got him all to myself anyway. I took this picture of us while we were waiting for our plane, and apparently Ryan was really excited to go on a trip with me :)

We flew in, got a rental car, stopped for dinner at a yummy little diner called the Jolly Roger, and went to the Warriors NBA game and had a great time.

We drove into the city and found our hotel, after we got checked in, even though it was pretty late, we were kind of hungry. So we took a walk around Union Square, and found a little diner and got some chocolate shakes. When we woke up in the morning I could NOT believe it, it was 10:55 am!!! I took still frame of my phone, because I could not believe it. We slept for almost 13 hours! With the black out shades, no kids, and no reason to wake up, we got some much needed sleep!

We got ready and went to the nearest LDS church. Randomly we walked in and saw Ryan's cousin Dave Blake and his family who live there. So we had a great time catching up with them and sitting with them during Sacrament Meeting. Then we drove around the city and explored a little, we drove across the bridge, down Lombard Street, and up and down the rolling hills of the city.

Then we drove up to Fairfield to visit Jane Anne, Colby and Weston. They were so nice to cook us dinner, and chat the evening away with us. We were so happy to see them in their cute home.

The next morning we took our time working out at the gym, then went to a highly recommended breakfast place just up the street called Sear's Fine Dining. Ryan got a delicious egg white omelette and I got what they're known for, their Swedish pancakes. It was all so yummy, and since we went later in the morning we didn't even have to wait to be seated!

Then we took the trolley across the city to Fisherman's Warf. Glad we took a ride on the transportation the city is known for. We were so lucky to have such beautiful weather the entire time we were there too.

Then we did a super touristy activity, that was also highly recommended, and really was such a blast. We rented some bikes, and biked all the way across the bridge down into Saulsilito, the cutest little town hidden on the side of a mountain right on the coast of the bay.

Once we got into Sausilito, we got lunch at the Napa Valley Burger Co., it was also recommended, and was so incredibly delicious. It was basically over priced, gourmet burgers. But we loved the atmosphere and the food really was incredible. Then we walked around and shopped around and took the Ferry back across the bay and returned our bikes.

We went up to Ghirardelli Square, then made our back to our hotel and grab some dinner at Boudin's and got soup in a sourdough bread bowl.

Our last day there we explored the city a bit more, and drove across the bridge to Sausilito and down into the redwoods and loved going from the city, to a coastal city, to a beautiful forest. Then we came back into town to eat some shi shi Mexican, Nopalitanos, and had to check out the Painted Ladies before we headed to the airport. It was the perfect get-a-way. We had a lot of rest, did a lot of fun things, and were so excited to get back to our girls.

Trouble and Mobile

Penny is still our little trouble. She is just go go go. She loves to get into everything and anything. Especially now that she's our little walker! She is the cutest little toddler ever. She just waddles back and forth. She kind of sticks out her bum, and bends her knees and kicks out her feet. It's hilarious. Love this little girl.

Daddy Daughter Bowling Night

Our ward planned a fun night for all the dads and their daughter to go bowling and eat pizza. We hadn't mentioned it to Livy because Ryan was supposed to go to Dallas for work. But when they talked about it on Sunday Livy came home so excited and couldn't stop talking about it. So being the best daddy ever, Ryan was able to make arrangements so that someone else could go to Dallas so Ryan could take Livy on this date. When I told her what daddy had done she ran outside when he got home and gave him a huge hug and told him how much she loved him. It was a such a sweet memory I always want to remember about this awesome daddy.
