Time with Jen

Tim went to India for work for 2 weeks, so Jen came out to Utah while he was gone, and I'm so glad he did! We had so much fun with her and her little Trey-man. One morning we met up with Crissi and went to the splash pad at Riverwoods. The kids probably played in the water for about 10 minutes, then they just wanted to eat snacks. The babies weren't to thrilled with the cold water. Such cute little cousins.

Bear Lake

We have heard so many wonderful things about Bear Lake, so we have been wanting to go with years! We absolutely loved going to Lake Powell, but with such young kids, there is no way we can go for years. We tried planning it several times with the Jackson's and it just wasn't working out. So we decided to just find our own cabin through VRBO and go with friends! We went with the Allreds and Poulsens and it was so much fun. So so so much fun. We found the perfect cabin, where each family had their own space, plenty of room to park, and a big grassy area with a sand volleyball court. All of the kids played so hard, and got along all so well, and we enjoyed our time as adults at night. We're definitely doing it again next year.

We went down first thing in the morning, packed our lunch, and set up camp on the beach before the big crowds got there. Our favorite part about the beach was that it was 100's of feet out in the lake and the water was barely up to our knees. So the kids just ran around and played and we hardly had to worry about them. They had so much fun with the sand, and all of their toys.

Probably one of my favorite pictures from the whole trip, was sweet Penny in "baby jail". We brought the pack n' play so I didn't have to worry about her getting in the water, getting covered in sand and eating sand. We just took her for a little drive in the afternoon and she just took a little nap in the car for a bit, it worked out perfect.

The kids all had a great time playing on the beach, we barely convinced them to come on the boat too! But when they did they loved to dance and cheer people on.

We played hard all day at the lake, then we just went back into town and to one of the few restaurants that they have and had dinner. Then we went home and put the kids to bed, and did it all again the next day. I wish we could go for an entire week next year, it was such a blast. We were so thrilled that it was only about 3 hours from our house, and it was so beautiful, and had such clean and beautiful turquoise water. We fell in love.

Balloon Festival

We have made this a 4th of July tradition, and I love it every year! We got there just in time to walk around and see all of the balloons fill up and rise off the ground. We didn't realize that they leave and come back and have a little competition with throwing a bag down and try and hit a marked "X". We left, but maybe we'll stay and watch it next year. We love this holiday and all of the fun traditions and time we get to spend all together.
