Splash Pad

All summer long we lived about a mile from the splash pad in Riverwoods, but we never got down there. So not that I live 15 miles away I figured it was about time to try it out. We met my friend Debbie and her little girl Brynlee, as well as Lindsay and Tate. Livy wasn't so sure about it all until she saw Tate trying to drink the water, then she thought that was a wonderful idea and went at it.

But let's be honest, that lasted maybe 20 minutes. Then Livy was more interested in her stroller and her colored pencils than the fun and cool splash pad. So we met Ryan for lunch at Malawi's and called it a day.

Hotel Park City

We just had the most amazing weekend - all because my husband is amazing and works incredibly hard, and Qualtrics is AWESOME! A few months ago the Qualtrics were told that if they half way towards their quota by the half way mark of the quarter then they go a 2-night stay at Hotel Park City, a dinner for 2 at Ruth's Chris and a $100 gift card to the Outlets. Ryan qualified for this great incentive, and we were stoked! Since Ry is a manager we actually got to stay in a room in one of the cottages, with our own hot tub on the deck! Whoop whoop!

Friday afternoon we dropped off Livy at Mimi's and Grandpa's (thank heavens for my parents, we couldn't have enjoyed this weekend with out them!), then we headed up to Park City. We met Ry's whole team there and went down the alpine slide then to dinner at the Baja Cantina. It was delicious! I got the steak fajitas, and they were to die for. We checked in to our room, then once every one got settled we met up and went on a stroll down main street, then grabbed some caramel apples from Rock Mountain Chocolate Factory. Then we went hot tubbing, went to the Winklemans room with the rest of the team, played a couple of games and didn't get to bed until after 1:00 a.m.! That is uncharted territory for us. We felt a little crazy and rebellious staying up so late.

Then, Saturday was Ryan's mom's birthday, so Jane Anne and Colby flew in to spend the day with her (and go see Wicked!), so we wanted to make sure to spend time with them. So we all went boating up at Deer Creek, which was closer to Park City for us! The Jackson's picked up Livy and brought her with them so we got to spend some time with her too, it was perfect. It was a bit windy and chilly, but once you got in the water it was just fine. Everyone did a little bit of water skiing, enjoyed being together and had fun.

We took Livy back down to my parents house, then headed back up to Park City for one more night of luxury. We first went to spend our gift card at the Outlets, and lucky for Livy and I we used it right up, Ryan didn't find anything that he really liked, but he was so nice to let the Livster and me take advantage :) Then we met up with everyone else that was in Park City with Qualtrics for a big dinner together at Ruth's Chris. The Academic team all sat together at a table, and I was lucky enough to sit in between these lovely ladies (Lindsay Durrant and Mandi Winkleman). We were there are 6:00 pm, and didn't leave until after 8:30 pm, it was absurd! We got the filet's, and they were ginormous, I couldn't believe how big they were, but definitely delicious!

One of the guys had a great idea to go bowling with the whole gang, so there were 15 of us that went, and Ryan I think got the highest score! It was such a super nice bowling alley too with big leather couches for the seating. After one game, the Durrants came back with us and we ended up talking and munching on candy till midnight. It was such a wonderful weekend. Our first time away from Livy for two nights in a row (even though we got to see her for a few hours in between :), and it all worked out perfectly. A big thank you to my parents, and especially Qualtrics!

Half Bath Face-lift

When we first moved in, one of the things I wanted to do "Someday" was to give our little half bath some stripes. But the other night Ryan was answering some email for work, Livy was asleep and I was tired of unpacking. So I decided I would just measure that night. Then I was just going to tape. Then I was just going to one coat, then I just decided to just go for it and finish. I did the last coat the next morning, and it was all done and looking amazing. It makes the little room seem so much taller and bigger. I am so happy with my last minute design inspiration/project.

Day at the Park with Tate

I was busily unpacking, and was so grateful for Lindsay to drop by and take us to the park. Tate is much for adventurous than Livy. She is cautious, and he is climbing around everywhere. They both got to swing for a little, both got to see a nice big dog, and drank a whole lot of water since it was so hot. Livy is so happy to be back with her friends.
