Myrtle Beach Part 2

Myrtle Beach. Warm water. Fine sand. Slightly Breezy. Not too hot. Wonderful vacation. Lots of beach time.
A few family pictures:
More beach time.
 Some pool time.
And a little bit of loving Livy time. Just a little bit.
I took over 125 pictures, so although this may be a lot, there are still plenty more!!! It was a wonderful week. It's always hard to come home from such a wonderful place. But we're excited to soak in the nice weather we're having in Minnesota. Thanks Bob and Sue for such a wonderful vacation, it was so fun to see everyone!

Myrtle Beach Part 1

Last Sunday, Ryan dropped Olivia and me off at the airport, on our way to South Carolina for a week of Jackson family time. As we were waiting for our bags in the Charleston airport, we waited, and waited. My stroller came, my car seat came, but no bag! This was doubly miserable because I put all of Olivia's things and mine in the same bag. And since we were 2-1/2 hours from the airport I wasn't going to get my bag until Tuesday. So good thing there was a Target close by, I went on a little shopping spree to get everything for a mama and a baby. Anyway - off to a bad start, I was still determined to have a great week! Livy got to spend a lot of good time with her cousins and Grammy.

We spent most of Monday getting my things at Target, grocery shopping, and just hanging out. On Tuesday we headed back down to Charleston to do some things while we waited for Ryan to fly in (and get my bag!). We went to the beautiful Boone Hall Plantation (since 1681). There were beautiful 300 year old Oak Trees. We got to go on a few tours and learned about the Slaves Quarters, the lifestyle of the Plantation Owners, and a lot about the history of our nation. We then went to Market Street, which had a whole street of these little shops things people had made and were selling. Livy loved all the people (and spending time with Uncle Colby and Auntie Jane Anne).
Then we went to grab some dinner at a little place called Poogan's Porch.
After a long day in Charleston, Ryan's flight was delayed! He wasn't going to land until 11:15, and we still had a 2-1/2 hour drive. So Ry's dad decided to stay in a hotel and rent a car to drive back in the morning. No driver likes a sleepy long ride! We were so excited to be with Ryan!! Now I felt like my vacation could really begin.

8 Months

Olivia Jean Jackson - 8 months old! She's become affectionately known as the following: Liv, Livy, Livers, Livy Jean, Livys, Baby Girl, Girly Goo, and I'm sure there's more to come.

Livy has a huge personality. She is so funny. She is very social - she loves being in public and being around a lot of people. She will stare at someone until they look at her - then she'll smile. She still gets several comments a day on those big eyes!

Livy is sitting up very well. She hardly falls over anymore. She still hasn't quite caught on to the idea of rolling over, and not even close to crawling. She is babbling a lot more, we're hoping for a "da-da" or "mama" one of these days. She's also "blows raspberries" and it figuring out how to control her tongue and lips.

Everything in arms length she tries to reach for and bring to her mouth. She has also been using her fingers really well, pick up very small things (like a little piece of thread, or a strand of hair).

We love you Livy Jean! Keep making us laugh!

Best Buds

It made me so happy to walk in and see this:
Sargie and Livy are becoming great friends. Sarge is finally starting to accept that Olivia exists and she's not going away. He'll try and steal kisses, lick her toes, or try to steal her toys. I love my kiddos.

Smooth Ride

We officially started training for our marathon this week! Today was the 6 mile run, and apparently it was too long of a run for little Olivia. We'll just see how she does when we're doing three times as long of a run! She just has too smooth of a ride in her nice new strolly!

Lunch Date

Livy was super excited to go visit dada at work for lunch. It was a beautiful day. We even got to meet a bunch of people he works with. It was a perfect lunch date.

No...

Livy has figured out how to shake her head. She does it when she's eating, when I'm trying to put her down to sleep, and when she's just hanging out. She thinks it's pretty fun. It always makes me laugh - glad I got it on video! Silly babes.
